English band the Yardbirds had a series of hits in the mid 1960s, including "For Your Love", "Over Under Sideways Down" and "Heart Full of Soul", but the band is much better known for launching the careers of three of rock’s greatest guitarists: Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, and Jeff Beck. Evolving from their blues roots, The Yardbirds pioneered many guitar innovations of the 60s, including feedback, and distortion.
