Bob Marley

Jamaican reggae legend Bob Marley (1945 – 1981) defines for many reggae music, and he remains the most widely known and popular reggae performer almost 30 years after his death. He was instrumental in spreading reggae music worldwide and introducing the ska and reggae sounds to a wide audience. The Marley compilation album Legend, released in 1984, three years after his death, remains the best selling reggae album of all time, having sold more than 20 million copies worldwide. Marley has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and was posthumously presented the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
