Bo Diddley

The late, great Bo Diddley (1928 - 2008), born Ellas Otha Bates in rural Mississippi, is sometimes referred to as “The Originator” because of the instrumental role he played in the transition of Blues into Rock and Roll. A member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Diddley is cited for his influence on Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Buddy Holly and many others, and his technical innovations, including his trademark rectangular guitar.
